Well this morning I braved the cold morning air and got up at 6am to go and get some sunrise shots overlooking one of the oyster farms. It was so cold but worthwhile for the shots I got.
The long things in the water are the wooden racks from which the oyster cages are hung. It is low tide when I took this photo. When it is high tide, these racks are covered with the water. The native oysters were fished out in the 1840’s and never recovered. The Pacific oyster was imported into the area and oysters are sold around the country.
The colours at dawn changed as it got closer to sunrise. What a magical time of the day.
Another photo of Coffin Bay at sunrise.
After breakfast the men of our group got together to put the new car UHF radio into our car. As usual there was a gathering and much talking about what was going to happen.
Kurgan just sat and watched the men.
After lunch we headed back into Port Lincoln for a sightseeing day. We again visited the marina and saw this dog busy guarding the entrance to the Prawn Fishermen’s Association building.
In keeping with my interest in photographing public artworks, I saw this sculpture of a Blue Tongued Bobtail lizard around Port Lincoln.
After a pleasant afternoon of sightseeing around Port Lincoln we headed home. It looked like a fire had got out of control but saw nothing on TV
tonight.
