On The Road At Last…………..Day 1

Sunday March 23:

On the road at last. We left on time at 8am this morning and for our first day we travelled 436 kms. You know that things happen in three’s, ……its a cosmic given. Caravan Joy and Mike’s caravan rear vision mirror fell off, never to be seen again; again Caravan Joy & Mike later had a hose dangling from the back of the caravan like a monster snake; and the third thing happened to us, the lock down lid covering the water tank hose came off. Duct tape and a empty water bottle have been used as a bushman’s fix.

Travelling between Dwellingup and Boddington, we have heavy rain, thunder and I was very uncomfortable watching the lighting strikes, then all of a sudden it stopped.

As there are no free camping sites in this area, we have camped up at a small caravan park at Lake King. Toilets and showers are great, thanks to the “Royalties For Regions” funding programme. We were just settling down to a well deserved cuppa, when we saw some vintage cars come into the park. They had been attending a Vintage car rally at Brookton and they are travelling home to Esperance. I have photos and will post when I next have internet access. There was a Chevolet, a Buick and a Ford. Beautifully restored cars. Tomorrow night we will be somewhere on the Nullabor.

What a bonus getting the chance to shoot the vintage cars. Thanks for putting the link in FB- I would probably not track you down without it:)
