July 9
We have been sightseeing ourselves silly in Longreach. We have seen the Qantas founders Museum. This is a modern museum that engages even young children. The exhibits were interesting and well presented.
Today we went to the Stockman’s Hall of Fame and to see their Outback show. This was presented by Lachie Crossor. He started off with his horse Ernie.
Ernie did a number of tricks including taking his saddle blanket off and pulling up his blanket to sleep.
Then Lockie stood on his stock horse to show the trust between man and horse.
He had some kelpie dogs which he had moving some sheep. The older one, Dusty had a staring competition with a sheep and she won.
He ended the show by coming out with his bull which he rode into the ring.
I then had a look in the Hall of Fame. difficult to take photos but here is one.
I went back close to sunset to take a photo of the outside and glad I did as the building entirely different to the 2pm photo I took.
Tomorrow Kurgan has a date with the Doggie Wash..
