Today we filled up with water at Coober Pedy before we set out, not knowing how many nights we would have to bush camp. We had to pay for this drinking water at a cost of 20 cents per 40 litres.
We did not have water to put a hose to in the caravan park and were using our own water from our water tanks. Showers were a riot at 20 cents for 3 minutes. I thought you had to put all your money in the slot at once and decided to wash my hair. I got my hair all wet then the water cut out after 3 minutes. I lost my other 20 cents to the rotten machine. So no hair wash. John also came to grief with the pay for a shower system.
We stopped at Marla roadhouse for lunch and kept on driving until we got to the border of South Australia and the Northern Territory.
We drove on for 20 kms to Kulgera (pronounced COL-gra) where we topped up with fuel . The roadhouse and the pub were joined so I have added another pub photo to my collection.
The road just continues on and on and on. We look forward to reading the road signs and taking photos of vehicles overtaking us to relieve the boredom. Road trains, 3 trailers long, provide some great photos.
………………………and the road just goes on.
We drove over 500 kms today and were headed for Mt Ebenezer Roadhouse to camp. We got there only to find the place was closed and no longer operating. So we travelled 40 kms to another bush camp for the night. Lights out early thonight.
