Road Trip – Day 1

We left early this morning for our road trip and managed to only forget the dog shampoo and the dog lead. We are heading south east and passing through many country towns. Some of the names are Williams, Wagin, Dumbleyung, Lake Grace, Kukerin, Newdegate and Lake King,  and yes there is a Lake King.

Lake Grace is a large county town with a very long main street and is a pretty and tidy town. Others like Kukerin are small but proud. The sign on the outskirts of Kukerin announced they were small but strong. The town pub was one of the nicest looking pubs we saw all day.

The road from Lake Grace to Lake King was STRAIGHT for 117 kms and makes for some boring driving.

Lake King was dry of water and you could see the dried salt go for miles.

We arrived at the town of Lake King about 3pm and decided to camp in the caravan park, small but neat & tidy. All the other caravans in the park are permanent and seem to be occupied by workmen, one of whom is called Bert.

Strange without the TV but the stars are very bright.
