Mild scare when my older windows 7 computer wouldn’t start - - - its the one that has the Telstra internet connection toggle. Did a system restore to an earlier date and thank goodness it worked.
Today we did a drive around the bottom of the Yorke Peninsula. we started off going to Corny Point and its lighthouse. Why is it called Corny Point? Nothing profound, just that our famous explorer, Mathew Flinders, thought the point of land looked like a corn on one’s foot. I guess having explored so much of Australia’s coastline, he was running out of ideas for naming bays etc.
We drove around the small community where we were watched carefully by the locals.
The local tavern is open 4 days a week. Note the name of it in the photo.
The Corny Point lighthouse was built in 1882 and continues to work today as an automated lighthouse.
After driving to Marion Bay, we left John & Denise as they were going into a National Park. Having Kurgan on board restricts us from seeing National Parks, but this is a choice we have made. Marion Bay is a beautiful little place with a protected bay.
We drove back through Warooka to Point Turton. In Warooka we saw this dog come into town on his owners ute. We were lucky in that there was little rain in Point Turton.
