Still sunny in Townsville but rain is forecast for Friday. Looks like I will have to put the bucket up on my window again. A lot of sitting and watching has given me a rather good tan on my legs. We have become friends with the two other couples next to us. Its nice to catch up with what each person has done during the day.
Yesterday we went into Hervey’s Range about 15 kms from the Black Stadium Caravan Park. We came to Pipers Lookout.
A fantastic view with Townsville to the left in the photo.
We went on a further couple of kms to The Heritage Tea rooms for afternoon tea.
The Heritage Tea Rooms were originally the Eureka Hotel. Made out of split logs, bark, with a verandah across the front. The Eureka Hotel is situated near Thorntons Gap, and is the oldest known building in North Queensland. Adjacent to the tearooms is the old stock route grounds which has been the resting place for cattlemen and livestock since 1860.
As we were leaving the tea rooms we saw a Wallaby and her baby in her pouch.
Today we heard from John & Denise who will be joining us tomorrow.
