Road Trip – Day 39 (April 23)

Our last day before we head north to Darwin. Tomorrow we hope to see Woomera, Australia’s rocket range. Again we will be waking up and wondering we will see during the day.

Today was one of maintenance and preparation. Lance and Eric checked out the leak in our water tanks and put more stuff on our roof to, hopefully, stop the leak when we get a heavy dew. All of us went shopping for groceries as we don’t know when we will again see reasonable sized shops. Water is a big must for us as we will be bush camping where ever we find ourselves about 3.30pm and water is very expensive in Coober Pedy.

This morning we declared it a girls morning out, so we went off to see Mathew Flinders Lookout in the
Australian Arid Lands Botanic Gardens. This is the top of Spencer Gulf and it is a spectacular view.

We then went over to the shop/cafe to have a look and enjoy a cappuccino. we saw some lovely wild flowers including my favourite, Sturt Desert Pea.

The afternoon was spent shopping and preparation for travel through remote areas. May be a few days before I have internet connection again.
