On the road again. Today we left Port Augusta for the Australian outback. The road went on and on and on. We started to get excited when we saw a roadside sign to read. Boredom was relieved by chatting on the 2 way radios.
We reached Woomera, 180kms north of Port Augusta, just before lunch. Woomera consists of the Woomera Village and the Woomera Test Range. The Woomera Test Range is HUGE. It is the same size as England and is 127,000 square kms which makes it the largest test site in the world. In 1982 Woomera was opened to the public and since then has been thriving on tourism and range activity both for the military and the non military
We arrived and fond the Missile Park. What a fascinating place. There were rockets, missiles and even a couple of planes to photograph. I was in heaven.
After lunch we were back on the road, looking for a bush camp for the night. We ended up at a place called Mulga Well Rest Area. We decided to light a fire and turn off all the lights so we could watch the stars. This is when I dropped my camera and created a few chips in my lens. No guessing what I said. I think its OK but I noticed it is a little hard to take on the camera body.
Here we all are in the bush around the fire at Mulga Well.
